Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at Palm Beach Gardens
BPEI at Palm Beach Gardens Since 1996, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has offered excellent and comprehensive clinical ophthalmic services in the Palm Beaches of Florida; the same services for which it became renowned in Miami.

In 2006, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute moved into its much anticipated, newly constructed 7.4 acre campus at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, bringing Palm Beach County the most technologically advanced eye care center in the United States.

This $22 million expansion triples the size of our former facility and reaffirms Bascom Palmer Eye Institute’s long-standing commitment to deliver the highest level of ophthalmologic care, research and education to Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

With a uniquely comprehensive array of cutting-edge ophthalmologic technology at a single site, this campus supports a dramatic expansion in clinical care and research – with greater access to clinical trials for Palm Beach and Martin County residents.

A decade ago, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute  purchased the land for the new campus at PGA Boulevard and Fairway Drive in PGA National. At that time, Bascom Palmer had begun operations in a 2,500-square-foot office nearby, with one physician and five employees.  Over the past ten years, as patient demand has dramatically grown, that office space has undergone three major additions.

The new campus features the Maltz Center, a 40,000 square-foot patient care medical office building with more than 50 examination rooms for the treatment of all ophthalmic diseases and disorders.  It houses centers for macular degeneration and imaging, glaucoma, LASIK, aesthetics and pediatric ophthalmology, It also features a center for low vision rehabilitation and an optical shop.  Adjacent to the medical office building is the Frankino Pavilion at the Bascom Palmer Surgery Center.  The 10,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center allows Bascom Palmer’s physicians to perform retina, cataract, glaucoma, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeries on-site.
