Resources

  • Procedure and Prep Rooms
  • The procedure suite consists of 2 sterile rooms with ceiling mounted surgical microscopes equipped with video and computer data acquisition systems. The suite includes a preparation room, sterilization and instrument room, and recovery room.

  • Retinal Photography & Angiography
  • The operating scope in Room 1 is fitted with a video camera, tape recorder and monitor. A digital camera and supporting computer system has been purchased and will be installed shortly. The system has been customized for use in fundus photography and fluorescein angiography for various experimental models.

  • Laser Procedures
  • The core maintains several lasers for ophthalmic applications, using either slit lamp and microscope delivery systems. Lasers include argon, sapphire and diode lasers.

  • Electroretinography
  • The core maintains facilities and equipment for performing standard bright flash ERG, including an ERG machine and special dark adaptation room. Customized instrumentation for pattern ERG (PERG) is also available collaboratively.

  • Non-Invasive Imaging
  • Customized instrumentation for non-invasive cross-sectional imaging of the retina by spectral domain-Optical Coherence Tomography is available collaboratively.
